WP1: DEVELOPMENT OF INNOVATIVE ECO-BIOTECH PRODUCTS THROUGH NGS TECHNOLOGY EXPLOITATION
This work package aims to develop innovative Eco-Biotech Products by exploiting the NGS technology. The focus will be on Biopesticides, Enzymes, Bioplastics, and Anti-oxidants which cover most of CBS’s research topics.
WP2: TECHNICAL CAPACITY IMPROVEMENT
To comprehend the complete spectrum of suitable protocols utilizing NGS technologies (Illumina and Nanopore) for various applications such as microbial genomes (prokaryotic and fungi) (de novo and resequencing) and metagenomics. The aim is to devise a comprehensive scheme of harmonized methods and tools encompassing genomic and metagenomic approaches to support scientists in their research endeavors.
WP3: STRENGTHENING NGS DATA ANALYSIS
The main aim of the Work package is to get a deeper understanding of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) with a special focus on bioinformatics issues as listed (i) Quality assessment of the raw data, (ii) Metagenomic, (iii) Metataxonomic, (iv) Microbial Genomes (De novo/Resequencing): assembly, functional annotation, and metabolic pathway prediction and (v) Data interpretation and visualization
WP4: DATA MANAGEMENT, DISSEMINATION, EXPLOITATION AND COMMUNICATION
The global objective of the Work package is to disseminate, exploit, and communicate, the results of the NGS-4-ECOPROD project quickly and efficiently, to ensure that the results, knowledge, and experience generated in NGS-4-ECOPROD are effectively disseminated to the wider community, thus contributing to Europe’s competitiveness and growth.
WP5:PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND COORDINATION
This work package aims to ensure effective project management and coordination of the partners. It shall be carried out throughout the whole duration of the project, and ensure the correct organization, coordination, communication, and co-operation between the partners and the European Commission.
WP6: ETHICS
Under the supervision of an ethics committee, this work package will address ethical issues encountered by the project. It will oversee the security and protection of the collected data and manage the risks that may arise during fieldwork.
