As part of the NGS-4-ECOPROD project’s commitment to ethical and inclusive scientific practices, an Information Day dedicated to Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) aspects in project management was held on November 19, 2025, at the Centre of Biotechnology of Sfax (CBS).
The session was expertly facilitated by Ms. Malvina Artheau, a specialist in RRI principles and their integration into European research projects. The event aimed to raise awareness and build capacity among researchers and project staff regarding the importance of responsible conduct throughout the research lifecycle.
Objectives of the Event
- To introduce the core concepts of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), emphasizing transparency, inclusiveness, and ethical integrity
- To explore practical strategies for embedding RRI principles in research project design, execution, and dissemination
- To ensure compliance with funding agencies’ expectations concerning societal engagement, gender equality, open access, and ethics
- To promote a culture of reflexivity and social responsibility within the NGS-4-ECOPROD consortium and its partners
- Public engagement and stakeholder involvement in research processes
- Gender equality and diversity considerations in project teams and research outputs
- Open science and data sharing practices aligned with FAIR principles
- Ethical issues and integrity in scientific research
- Anticipation of societal impacts and fostering innovation with societal benefits
- Increased understanding of the significance of RRI within European-funded research frameworks
- Identification of practical tools and guidelines to integrate RRI into the ongoing activities of NGS-4-ECOPROD
- Commitment to fostering an organizational culture that prioritizes ethical responsibility, inclusiveness, and transparency
- Planning for future workshops and continuous training on RRI and related topics
