The NGS-4-ECOPROD project proudly participated in the Univ Expo Fair 2024, held on July 23 and 24, 2024, and organized by the University of Sfax. This annual event aims to highlight academic programs, scientific research, and innovation initiatives across faculties, research centers, and national and international partnerships.
Project Visibility and Public Engagement
The NGS-4-ECOPROD team hosted an interactive stand to showcase the project’s mission, activities, and impact in the field of green and sustainable biotechnology. Through posters, videos, brochures, and direct engagement with visitors, the team presented the project’s focus on next-generation sequencing (NGS), microbial resource exploration, and eco-innovative enzyme discovery.
Visitors, including high school students, university students, researchers, and the general public, had the opportunity to:

• Learn about environmental applications of NGS technologies
• Explore career opportunities in biotechnology and bioinformatics
• Understand the societal relevance of sustainable bioprocessing and microbial innovation

Objectives and Outcomes
Participation in the Univ Expo Fair contributed to the project’s dissemination and outreach goals under Work Package 4 (WP4): Communication, Dissemination, Exploitation, and Data Management. It enabled the project to:

• Increase its visibility among academic and public audiences
• Promote scientific literacy and community engagement in biotechnology
• Highlight international collaboration between Tunisian and European partners under the NGS-4-ECOPROD framework

Conclusion
The Univ Expo Fair 2024 was a valuable platform for communicating the goals and achievements of the NGS-4-ECOPROD project. By engaging with a diverse audience, the project reinforced its commitment to making science accessible and to fostering a new generation of researchers dedicated to sustainable innovation.
